For those of you who love French Provincial kitchens, this before and after is for you.
The doors and panels in this project come from Farmers, situated in the Gold Coast, Queensland. They offer a unique product, carefully formed from layers of veneer, treated and painted in two-tone effect to suit your independent requirements and provide the authenticity of a French Provincial Kitchen.
The existing kitchen was “plain Jane” and not worthy of the beautiful home surrounding it. The cooking area was crammed tightly in a corner and the oven was positioned on the opposite corner of the kitchen. The Island bench was vastly inadequate and the food storage was virtually non-existent.
Chimney Breast
We removed a dividing wall between the existing kitchen and dining room and began designing a French Provincial masterpiece. Our client had always wanted a Falcon Stove and a chimney breast. We made the right selection of Mantle, corbels, ogees and turned posts to create the perfect mantle. To finish it off we used Waratah Stop Flute Capping on top.
Many Options
The door selection from farmers is the Waratah Door in Crème Brule Colour. We carried the turned posts over to the Breakfast bench and the fridge run. The plate racks, diagonal wine rack and roll-out baskets add to and enhance the character of this room. The microwave has been hidden behind a pocket lift door that retracts into the cabinetry. We fitted Waratah Dental moulding all the way around the kitchen.
Window Dressing
To bring the existing window into the design and include it we added more of the Waratah Stop Flute Capping to create a pelmet. The overhead cabinets have an Intermediate Molding fitted along the bottom. The Dishwasher was fitted with a full-height integrated door. The client has selected a ribbed front butler sink and authentic provincial 2 handle tap.
Finishing
We used Warm White spotlights inside the Glass Door Cabinet and underneath the overheads cabinets as well. The stone benches are Symphony Grey from Caesarstone with a lamb’s tongue edge work.
